Jurassic Park!

Guess who's got an interview or 'informal chat' scheduled for Friday 24th? You'd be surprised if it wasn't me wouldn't you? Well it is me. GET IN!!!!

I'll be chatting about show format etc (new music, good music!), and I'm fully aware they won't want to put anything on that they already have. There are a couple of new music shows on the station but they are about unsigned bands. Our aim would be to provide a show where people can listen to good music, and not just whatever Radio 1 have been payed to put on their guestlist.

I spoke to someone but not the main man because he's on air at the moment, so I shall hopefully get a call back soonish.

Progress Report

So earlier on I posted a blog about what I want to do with the radio show, so now I shall fill you in on what's happened thus far;

Basically I've been nagging the station, turning up to help out occassionally, and keeping my creative juices flowing by listening to by fave DJs (Moyles, Russell Brand) in order to stay motivated and all that. After waiting for a few weeks for monsior radio man to call me back regarding my proposal I called the station and left a message asking what the devil was going on. They got back to me (hurrah!) and told me they hadn't forgotten about me, they'd just lost my phone number. Apparently they're up for it but they're busy right now, and in about 2 weeks they're going to call me in to train me up etc etc. I'll have to drag Kyle and Neil along as hopefully I can pass most of the technical responsibilities over to Nelly so I can concentrate on entertaining people with my voice.

So things are happening! I just need to be all nice etc and do whatever they say so I can secure a show.

Radio show proposal

I want a radio show! And you know what? I deserve one. Think of it this way, if I don't get on the radio I might get on the TV and if you've seen the picture of my NME goal you'll agree it isn't the best idea in the world.

Someone asked me what type of music it'll be. Well, it'll be new songs that my friend and human HMV catalogue Kyle comes up with. This is the guy who introduced me to Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Steve Splendid, and many others whom I probably would never have checked out if it were not for his musical enthusiasm. So he will bring in new music, play the best of it and we'll chat about if we like it or not and why or why not. Also, there will be lots of silly yet funny conversations, since we're both prone to quite a lot of rubbish talk.

Features and games will be in it too, as I'll spend the week getting people to speak their 2 cents on the weekly subjects and then chinwag about it between songs. Oh it'll be fun I tells ya, it will!

Plus I'll say crazygoals is the sponser and plug the site. How about that? We'll play the best local stuff including the mighty mighty Hellcyon. Vote for me! (there is no vote)
